Before transitioning into real estate, Mike spent 28 years in the corporate food industry. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, he earned his bachelor’s degree from Penn State University and his master’s degree and Ph.D. from Texas A&M University. During his corporate career with Frito-Lay, the company behind internationally recognized brands such as SunChips and Fritos, Mike is professionally credited with inventing SunChips. His experience in scientific research, product development, innovation, and corporate leadership continues to influence the methodical, strategic, and solution-oriented approach he brings to property valuation, marketing, negotiation, and transaction management. Alongside his wife and longtime business partner, Lauren Libby Taranto, Mike has helped establish the TarantoTeam as a trusted presence in the Southwest Florida luxury real estate market.
